Kay has a background in both civil litigation and family law and now practices exclusively in the area of family law. Her focus is on resolving disputes out of court through mediation or collaborative law whenever possible.

In addition to being a member of the Collaborative Family Law Group, Kay is a qualified mediator and member of the Canadian Bar Association and Victoria Bar Association. She has also participated in the review and update of the Family Relations Act, the Rules of Court, and Continuing Legal Education materials concerning family law. She continues to advocate for improvements in options for families in transition.
