Early on in my legal career, I became aware of the fact that in most legal disputes, particularly in family disputes, there is an emotional case as well as a legal case. While I am skilled in the area of litigation (going to court), I believe it is in the best interests of all parties (particularly the children) to resolve matters through negotiation, mediation and/or the collaborative process. In particular, I believe the collaborative process allows all parties to better handle the emotional aspects of separation and divorce.
